    Stitch and Thread

    Stitched Land
    Stitched Land
Inspired by a walk in Wales where the land repeatedly appeared to be stitched together with fences. The posts are pushed into the land in a similar way a stitch is pushed into the cloth. The wire crosses the land as the thread crosses the cloth. When walking in the countryside there are often points that remain more intense in our memory, points to rest and take in the view. Other areas are less significant and yet are a vital part of the phenomenology of the walk.

Hand and machine embroidery. This work maps the route and experience of this walk. Much is experienced some of which remains much more intense in the memory.

A combination of machine embroidery and paint. Intense detail and empty space reminiscent of intense memory and peripheral memory.
    Control
    Control
The mathematical shape is created by following a controlled and measured pattern, This is contrasted by the unpredictable nature of rust dying.
